I work between piano performance, sound judgment, cultural practice and the evolving identity of acoustic instruments.

Beyond the stage, I use image, recording and project design to document the cultural life around piano.

BEGAN WITH PIANO

Started piano at the age of four, entering music through sound, discipline and early stage experience.

Entered Mannes School of Music with the President Scholarship, beginning formal piano performance training in New York.

DUAL-DEGREE PATH

Approved as the first Chinese student at Mannes to pursue Piano Performance and Arts Management & Entrepreneurship together.

TODI / ORCHESTRA

Performed Haydn Piano Concerto No.11 in D major with the Todi Symphony Orchestra.

RENMIN UNIVERSITY TALK

Represented the Arts Management & Entrepreneurship program in a public talk at Renmin University of China.

2020

WESTERN CATHAY / TRACK MEET

Created Western Cathay Music as a capstone project and later developed Track Meet for Make Music Day.

    ORIGIN OF SOUND

    Born in Zhuhai, a coastal city in southern China, Jiacheng's musical imagination was shaped by the sea, light, romantic landscapes and early encounters with piano performance.

    He began studying piano at the age of four, entering music through family guidance, discipline and the early experience of performing on stage.

    MANNES / NEW YORK

    Jiacheng entered Mannes School of Music with the President Scholarship, beginning his formal training in piano performance in New York under the guidance of pianist Eteri Andjaparidze.

    TODI INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

    He performed Haydn's Piano Concerto No.11 in D major with the Todi Symphony Orchestra, expanding his experience from solo performance into orchestral collaboration.

    STEINWAY HALL, NEW YORK

    He performed at Steinway Hall during Mannes Sounds Festival, presenting modern works and developing a wider relationship with contemporary piano repertoire.

    During Make Music Day, he developed Track Meet as an online performance project, combining outreach, digital programming and community-based music participation.

    After returning to China, his work expanded across piano heritage, recording, arts management, media production and large-scale concert planning - forming the foundation of his current practice.
